VHS bats silenced against Santa Fe
In the shadows Monday at Valencia, the Jaguars (2-2), in white, lost 14-3 to Santa Fe. VHS gave up a first inning grand slam and managed just two hits in the game shortened to five innings because of the mercy rule. Valencia will be at Los Lunas next Tuesday. LLHS (3-0) remained unbeaten Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of Deming, 12-3 and 9-1. Thursday, the Tigers are at Volcano Vista and Friday host Alamogordo. Tuesday in Belen, the Eagles (4-4) lost a wild one to Valley 17-14. Starting Thursday, BHS is at a Las Cruces tournament, facing Cleveland in the opening game.
