Dozens of colorful hot air balloons filled the bright, blue skies over the Hub City this weekend during the 36th annual St. Patrick’s Day Balloon Rallye, sponsored by the Valencia Flying and Retrieval Society and the city of Belen. While fewer balloons lifted off this year, it was the first time the rally took place since before the pandemic. The VFRS raised nearly $6,000 in donations that will go to a local charity.
