Dukes celebrate 60 years of marriage
Terry and Donna Duke, of Rio Communities, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 4. The couple married in 1966 in Chicago, Ill.
Terry has been in the military for 30 years with a career in nursing. He graduated from the Shannon School of Nursing. He is very active in the church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and enjoys keeping people laughing.
Donna recently retired from volunteering at Abundant Grace Free Store after 10 years. She enjoys gardening and crafting and being active at her church, Valley Lutheran.
Their children are Theresa Nicole, of Rio Communities, Anthony Joseph, who passed away in Aug. 2011, and Malissa Duke and husband, Robert Chavira, of Belen. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family celebrated Terry and Donna’s anniversary with family, friends and church family and coworkers on Jan. 31. They also celebrated Donna’s 80th birthday, which was on Jan. 30.
The couple spent more than 30 years square dancing, and they helped run whale watching tours when they lived in California. Both Terry and Donna love to travel.
