Romeros celebrate 50 years together
Pueblitos
George and Gertrude Romero of Pueblitos will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on March 23. They were married on March 22, 1952, in Barstow, Calif., when George was in the Marines.
George is retired from the civil service and enjoys farming, riding a four-wheeler at their Riley, N.M., ranch, hunting, fishing and supervising matanzas.
Gertrude is retired from employment with Bernalillo County and enjoys singing, traveling with her daughter and fishing with George at one of their favorite spots, McCalister Lake.
They are members of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
The Romeros have three children, Susanna Romero Fernandez, George Gerald Romero and wife, Theresa, and Ruben Romero and Irene Perea.
They have six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
The family is planning a vacation cruise after the celebration.
