LLS Board of Education seeking applicants for vacated District 2 position

The Los Lunas Schools Board of Education invites the public to submit applications for the vacated District 2 position.

According to a notice published by LLS, the remaining members of the LLS BOE will fill this vacancy within 45 days from the date of vacancy that occurred on July 26, 2024.

The individual selected will fill the vacated term until the next regular public school district election (December 31, 2025). Any registered, qualified voter who resides in the LLS’ BOE single-member District 2 must submit required documentation to the Office of the Superintendent no later than 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 to be considered by the LLS BOE. The superintendent's office is located at 119 Luna Ave., Los Lunas, NM 87031 and can be reached by calling 865-9636.

The following documentation must be submitted:

• A written statement declaring that the physical address provided on the letter of interest is their permanent legal residence and that, at the time of submitting their letter, the individual intends to remain in the LLS BOE District 2 for the remainder of the term.

• At least one example of the physical address as verification (an example is a utility statement with his/her name and the physical address included)

• A letter of interest including a narrative statement of the candidate’s reasons for seeking the position, and qualities or skills which he/she would bring to the LLS BOE which will serve the educational mission of the school district

• List of references (3 minimum)

• Notarized statement that the individual has not been convicted of a felony, or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude

• A statement of willingness to participate in a public interview process or public forum, which the BOE may call to obtain additional information about the individual’s credentials

An informational packet may be picked up from the Office of the Superintendent at the aforementioned address.

While interested persons may email a submission to Dr. Osowski (mosowski@llschools.net) by 11:59 pm on Monday, August 12, 2024 the letter of interest, list of references, written statement declaring their permanent legal residence and statement of willingness to participate in a public interview process or forum, and the notarized statement that the individual has not been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, must be received in the Office of the Superintendent on, or before, the deadline of 11:59 p.m Monday, August 12, 2024.
