Armstrong selected as Republican leader
New Mexico Rep. Gail "Missy" Armstrong (District 49) has been elected as the new Republican leader.
Armstrong is the first woman elected to serve as leader of the New Mexico House Republican Caucus.
“I am deeply honored to have been chosen to lead the House Republican Caucus,” Armstrong said. “As a mother, grandmother, businesswoman and rancher, I know the grit it takes to fight for what’s right.
“I have lived in New Mexico my whole life and it breaks my heart to see our state’s future under threat of failure. It won’t fail on my watch.
“As the first woman elected to serve as the leader of the House Republican Caucus, I am committed to focusing on the areas of common ground that unite rather than divide us. Only together can we make lasting change here in New Mexico.
“I look forward to leading the Caucus forward with common sense legislation that improves every life here in the great state of New Mexico.”
Armstrong represents Valencia, Socorro, Catron and Sierra counties.
