BHS Student Council’s Giving Tree

For the second year, BHS Student Council is doing a project for the holidays called “The Giving Tree.”

The point of this is to provide a holiday gift for students in the district that might not get something otherwise. McKinney-Vento and each site helped to find students in the school district who are in need. There are 100 students signed up for the Giving Tree from across the district.

The BHS Student Council is asking the district and community to help these students by selecting a tag from one of three locations, Gil Sanchez Elementary, Belen Middle School or Belen High School.

To make this project a success, the council is asking a $50 maximum for each child. When a tag is picked the person will purchase some of the items on the students list and return the items purchased along with the tag to the site’s office. Student Council will pick up the items, wrap them and send them to each site for distribution.

This project will run through Friday, Dec. 5. Please contact Amanda Gabaldon, GabaldonAm@beleneagles.org, at Belen High School for more information.
