Halloween, Fall Fest and trunk or treat events around Valencia County

Masquerade Ball

The New Mexico Special Orchestra is hosting its 27th annual Masquerade Ball at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Valencia County Sheriff’s Posse Hall. The free event will include a dance with Tony DeNardo’s PopUpShow. There will also be a costume contest.

Halloween Bash

The village of Los Lunas will hold a Halloween Bash from 4-9 p.m., Oct. 24, 25, 26, 31, at Daniel Fernandez Recreation Center. The haunted house will be set up for Oct. 24-26 only. On Oct. 31, join in for music, games, food, a haunted house and more.

Wings ‘n Wheels

The Mid Valley Airpark and EAA Chapter 530 in Los Chavez is hosting its second annual Wings ‘n Wheels fly-in and car show and trunk or treat from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25. There will be a pancake breakfast available and static displays of aircraft “wings” and cars “wheels.”

Pumpkin patch and trunk ‘r treat

A free pumpkin patch — one pumpkin per family — and trunk ‘r treat will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at 445 Bosque Farms Blvd., Bosque Farms.

Scarecrow Festival

The seventh annual Scarecrow Festival will be held from 3-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, on Becker Avenue between Fourth and Sixth streets in Belen. There will be cash prizes for best costume in adult, kids and group and for the best scarecrow. There will be music, entertainment, food trucks, vendors, jumpers, pumpkin and gourd painting and more.

Trunk or Treat

Happy Halloween

The Rio Communities Police Department, Dough Daddy’s and Goodesthetics will be holding a Trunk or Treat from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at 303 Rio Communities Blvd. Bring your whole family for food and drinks, face painting, games, hay rides and more surprises.

Halloween performance

A Halloween skit, “Halloween with Bill and Marie,” performed by the Mansion Players, will be performed at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Bosque Farms Community Center.

Valencia County Fall Fun Fest

Valencia County will be hosting a Fall Fun Fest from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at the county administration building, 444 Luna Ave., Los Lunas. The event will feature Trunk or Treats, a movie, “Coco,” children’s costume contest, food trucks, staff carving and decorated pumpkins (judged by the public), games, refreshments and a staff door decorating contest.

Halloween PopUpShow

A free Halloween party with candy and live music will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Oct. 31, at the Belen Public Library. The event, sponsored by PopUpShow.net and the Belen Public Library, will have dancing and costumed characters. Remember to wear your costumes.

Paws & Putters

The VBPaw nonprofit will host Paws & Putters golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 31, at Tierra del Sol Golf Club in Rio Communities. Coffee and registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 10 a.m. There will be a burger bar during the awards and raffle drawings. This is a fundraiser for Valencia County animals. Senior Halloween Party

The Belen Senior Center is hosting its annual Halloween Party for those 60 and older from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at the center, 215 S. Main St., Belen. There will be a costume contest, music, lunch and more.

Trick or treaters are welcome from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, to have a little fun and fright at the Tomé Jail, 18 Church Loop, Tomé.

Patriotic Halloween

American Legion Post 81 is hosting its annual trunk or treat from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at the post 325 S. Main Street, Belen. Bring the whole family and celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday with the post, which will be giving out more than 250 hot dogs, bags of chips and water.

Halloween Bash

The Rio Communities Fire Department Auxiliary is hosting a free Halloween Bash from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at the main station, 108 Rio Communities Blvd. There will be trick-or-treating, hot cocoa and coffee, games and more.
