LOS LUNAS — La Vida Felicidad, Inc. is proud to honor the memory of Jim and Kathy Fawcett, whose kindness and generosity continue to touch lives across Valencia County and beyond.

Introduced to La Vida by their friend Jean Davies, Jim and Kathy opened their hearts — and their home — to learn about the organization’s mission to support families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. What began as a simple visit quickly became a friendship rooted in shared compassion and purpose.

“Jim and Kathy believed deeply in giving where it would have the greatest impact,” said Adria Jaramillo, CEO of La Vida Felicidad. “Their quiet generosity strengthened programs that bring comfort, dignity, and opportunity to so many people every day.”

Their giving helped seniors remain safely in their homes, provided warmth through heaters and holiday gifts, supported adult inclusion programs and equipped classrooms with resources that helped children thrive. Their vision also helped establish La Vida’s Community Initiatives Fund, which allows the organization to meet urgent needs and extend help to families in hardship.

After Jim’s passing, La Vida staff continued their friendship with Kathy, who often expressed how grateful she was for the care and connection she found through La Vida.

To honor their legacy, La Vida Felicidad has dedicated a tree on its Los Lunas campus — a living symbol of growth, gratitude and enduring love. The tree stands as a tribute to two remarkable lives that planted seeds of hope and generosity that will continue to grow for generations.

The Fawcetts’ story reminds us that meaningful change often begins with a single act of compassion. Their legacy calls on all of us to give where it matters most — to invest in people, in community and in the kind of hope that transforms lives.
