Flu & Covid Vaccine Clinic in Belen
The Belen Public Health Office, 617 Becker Ave., will hold a flu and Covid vaccine clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9. Influenza and Covid vaccine being offered at no out-of-pocket cost. Call 505-864-7743 to schedule an appointment.
Open Mic Night
An open mic night will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at the belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave. This family-friendly event allows performers, comedians, poets and other artists a safe and welcoming environment to perform. This event is for everyone regardless of age, skill level or experience. The event, hosted by PopUpShow.net and Tony DeNardo, is free entry, but there is a $2 performance registration.

Story time with JayDee the Therapy Dog at Belen library
The Belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave., is holding story time with JayDee the therapy dog from 10-11 a.m. every Tuesday. Children of all ages are welcome.
Adult Silent Book Club
Experience a stress-free book club where you can unwind, eat a treat and engage in conversation about your favorite reads from 2-4:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the Belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave., Belen. For readers 18 years old and older.
Waffle breakfast
A waffle breakfast will be served from 9-10:30 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at the Bosque Farms Community Center. Bring your favorite topping or prepared side dish. Coffee, butter and syrup will be provided.
Dance classes
Dance classes for all ages are offered at 10 a.m., every Saturday, at the Bosque Farms Public Library, 1455 W. Bosque Loop.
Textile Thursday
Join Valencia Community Action Network from 4-8 p.m. every Thursday for Textile Thursday at the Meadow Lake Community Center and unwind with yarn. There’s knitting, crochet, loom weaving, embroidery, amigurumi and more. Bring a project or start a new one. Free instruction and materials offered. Historic Tomé jail and casita
The town of Tomé Land Grant invites the public to visit the historic jail and casita at the Tomé Church Plaza, 18 Church Loop. Visitors are welcomed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday.
Art session
The Valencia Community Action Network, a local nonprofit, holds an all-ages fiber arts session from 4-7 p.m. every Thursday at the Meadow Lake Community Center, 100 Cuerro Lane.
MLK celebrations
The 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the UNM-Valencia Campus, 280 La entrada Road, Tomé.
The 33rd annual candlelight vigil, celebration and remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., hosted by the Belen Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Commission, will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at the Belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave., in Belen.
World’s Largest Matanza
The annual Hispano Chamber of Valencia County’s “World’s Largest Matanza” will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at Eagle Park, 305 Eagle Lane, in Belen. The annual event includes live music, team matanza competition, public food competition, vendors and a beer garden. The public is welcome to enjoy food from team competitors throughout the day. Belen Area Food Pantry
