Canned food drive
The Belen Fire Department and Belen Area Food Pantry are holding a canned food drive through Saturday, Feb. 28. Bring canned food from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., every day, at the Belen Fire Department, 121 S. Fifth St., Belen.
Mad Hatter Scholarship Tea
Tickets are on sale for the Belen Art League’s Mad Hatter Scholarship Tea, which will be held Sunday, March 22, with two seatings, noon and 2:30 p.m. Ticket price is $20, children 10 and younger are $10. There will be an art raffle, door prizes and hat contest. Tickets must be paid prior to event. Pay in person at 509 Becker Ave., Belen, or call 505-861-0217.

Route 66 Centennial Speaker Series
Aimee Tang will present, “Chinese Merchants of Albuquerque’s Route 66,” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Fred Luna Multi-Generational Center, 197 Don Pasqual, Los Lunas.
Richard Ruddy will present, “An Iconic View: Route 66 in Downtown Albuquerque,” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Isleta Pueblo Cultural Center, 71 Tribal Road 40, Isleta.
VCHS annual meeting
The Valencia County Historical Society will be holding its annual meeting at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, at the Belen Harvey House. There will be an awards presentation and election of officers. Historian John Taylor will speak about the Belen Cutoff. Refreshments will be served.
Belen judge to attend conference in March
Belen Municipal Judge Keith Norwood will be attending a judge’s conference from March 4-6. The office will remain open, but the judge will not be available.
Veterans Outreach Event in Bosque Farms
The Veterans’ Health Administration will hold a veterans outreach event from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, at the Bosque Farms Community Center. Learn more about VA health care, veterans benefits and other VA resources.

The Greater Valencia County Chamber of Commerce is holding its March Networking After Hours meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, at La Vida Felicidad NM, 530 Sun Ranch Village, Los Lunas. Join in for a legislative recap. This is a free event.
Manufacturing and Innovation Expo
The Central New Mexico Manufacturing and Innovation Expo will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 6, at the Los Lunas Transportation Center, 101 Courthouse Road, Los Lunas. Local manufacturers will gain direct access to workforce programs, state and federal incentives, export assistance, logistics experts, R&D support and regional economic development partners. Participants will also benefit from networking with other manufacturers and hands-on introductions to resources they can use immediately.
King of the Hill
The 10th annual King of the Hill 5K-10K Trail Run at El Cerro de Los Lunas, on N.M. 6, west of Los Lunas, is set for Saturday, March 7. The first race will begin at 7 p.m. The trail course includes different terrain and elevation changes, which challenges runners.
