Nurse from Valencia County honored at the 2024 Nursing Excellence Awards
ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence honored 27 nurses and nurse advocates last month at the annual New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards. The award ceremony honored excellence in all levels of nursing practice and leadership.
Anita Lozano, of Valencia County and works at the Early Childhood Education and Care Department, was honored in the category of Excellence in Public Health/Community.
“We are thrilled to honor Anita Lozano. This incredible nurse helps her Valencia County community every single day,” said Rachael Frija, DNP, RN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC, president of the board of directors for the New Mexico Center For Nursing Excellence “The Nursing Excellence Awards were created by nurses for nurses, making this state-wide recognition especially meaningful and prestigious within the nursing profession.”
The New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence wants to recognize Presbyterian Healthcare Services as its presenting sponsor. As awards patron sponsors the event was also supported by Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and University of New Mexico College of Nursing.
The event was also made a success by the support of volunteers from Central New Mexico Community College, Health Leadership High School, and University of New Mexico College of Nursing.
Proceeds from the Nursing Excellence Awards support the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence and its mission.
