Sheriff’s deputies seek information about fatal crash
RIO COMMUNITIES — The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a fatal hit and run in the city of Rio Communities.
Around 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, VCSO deputies were patrolling in the area of the 100 block of Rio Communities Blvd. — N.M. 47 — when they were alerted to a man who was deceased near the road.
The man was identified as Earl Arellano, 54, of Casa Colorada, and was determined to have died on the scene due to injuries he received after being hit by a motor vehicle.
The vehicle, which was described only as being black in color in a recent press release from the sheriff’s office, left the area.
