Area teams compete in volleyball tournaments

Los Lunas, Valencia and Belen competed in volleyball tournaments last weekend, and each advanced to the gold bracket after pool play. LLHS (5-3), in white, went 2-1 with a win over Albuquerque High in the third place game of the Metro Championship. Both Belen and Valencia took part in the Santa Fe Tournament of Champions. A shorthanded Belen (7-2) squad went 1-2, defeating Gallup. Valencia (7-4) also went 1-2, with the Jaguars’ victory coming against Santa Fe Capital.
