Steven Contreras, center, Belen Consolidated Schools athletic coordinator, and Ernest Gonzales, white shirt, BHS girls soccer coach, meet with the game officials during Tuesday's contest against St. Pius. Belen fans were removed from watching the game because of repeated complaints shouted at the game officials.

Early in the second half, BHS fans were told to leave the field when the protests continued.

Specific details of what happened will be sent to the New Mexico Activities Association for review.

St. Pius, ranked No. 1 in 4A boys’ soccer, improved its record to (8-3, 1-0) with a 10-0 victory over BHS (4-6-1, 0-1).

Both Belen teams travel Thursday to Highland.

Next up, the Jaguars are at Pojoaque Valley Thursday in non-district boys’ action, while the girls continue the district schedule Tuesday at home against St. Pius.
