Eagles, Jaguars split tennis matches
Belen’s Gabriella Jaramillo helped the Eagles’ sweep Valencia in girls’ tennis last week at the BHS courts. Because of bad weather, it took two days for the Eagles and Jaguars to complete their District 5 4-A tennis opener.
Belen captured the girls’ match 9-0, but Valencia posted a 6-3 victory on the boys’ side. Valencia is at Sandia Prep on Wednesday while Belen hosts Highland on Thursday. Los Lunas opened district action Tuesday at Manzano. No score was reported.
