High school soccer squads making final state playoff push

The high school soccer season concludes this week, with playoff brackets to be revealed Sunday and first round games beginning Tuesday.

Saturday in girls’ action, Los Lunas (11-4, 5-1) posted a 10-0 victory over West Mesa. Eleaha Sangre, a senior, scored eight goals and now has 60 for her career. Wednesday, LLHS was at Atrisco Heritage Academy after the News-Bulletin print deadline.

On Tuesday, Belen (13-5, 5-2) defeated Grants 8-0 and Valencia (2-15-1, 1-6) lost 3-1 to Highland.

On the boys’ side Tuesday, Valencia (6-11-1, 3-4) fell at Highland 5-0. Belen (6-12-1, 2-5) handled Grants 6-0.

Los Lunas (1-15, 0-6) played Wednesday at AHA after the News-Bulletin deadline.
