Jalin Holland commits to Colorado
LOS LUNAS — Former Los Lunas basketball standout Jalin Holland has verbally committed to the University of Colorado.
Holland, a four-star recruit who averaged 26 points per game his junior season at LLHS, had narrowed his choices to Colorado, University of New Mexico and Oklahoma.
The official signing period begins in early November.
Holland, a 6-foot, 5-inch combo guard, did not respond to numerous News-Bulletin requests for comment before the deadline.
Holland has transferred to Dream City Christian Academy in Glendale, Ariz., for his final season of high school eligibility.
While visiting LLHS in April, Tad Boyle, CU coach, told the News-Bulletin the Buffaloes are looking for recruits with high character and “guys who can pass the ball, dribble the ball and shoot the ball.”
Colorado, which plays in the Big 12, was 26-11 last season and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
