Los Lunas Tigers are unbeaten; fifth-ranked girls soccer team in class 5A

An impressive start continued for the Los Lunas girls’ soccer, posting two more victories to improve to 5-0.

In addition, the Tigers are ranked fifth in 5A and sixth overall in New Mexico.

On Thursday, LLHS defeated Valencia 8-0, with LLHS senior Mia Carbajal-Hartog scoring on a penalty kick in the first half and adding four more goals in the final 40 minutes.

On Saturday, LLHS secured a 4-1 victory over visiting Roswell. Haylee Driscoll, McKaylee Burt, Eleaha Sangre and Charisma DeHerrera each scored for the Tigers.

Los Lunas plays road games Thursday at Aztec and Saturday at St. Pius.

Valencia (1-4) was on the road Tuesday at Kirtland Central. The Jaguars lost 1-0.

Also Tuesday, Belen (2-4) lost to Del Norte 3-2 in overtime. The Eagles host Atrisco Heritage Academy Thursday and Manzano Saturday.
