Women’s Golf Association “eclectic” tourney tops busy May

The Women’s Golf Association had a full schedule of regular play days, Ace Days and the Eclectic Tournament in the month of May.
Winning the May 1 scramble was the team of Sandy Watts, Anna Martinez, Kathy Burrow and Joanne Romero.
The Eclectic Tournament was played on May 15 and May 22. The tourney winner is based on Low Net Score over the two days, and the overall winner in the Ladies 18 category was Marilyn Jaramillo, with Tammie Fuller coming in second. There were no Ladies 9 players.
Ace days were played throughout the month with Berta Murzyn and Jaramillo winning for Saturday Aces, and Jaramillo winning the Wednesday Ladies 18 Ace Day and Fran Griffeth winning the Ladies 9 category.
Winning four times in the Ladies 18 First Gross Category this month was Murzyn, with Griffeth winning a Ladies 9 First Gross finish to go along with two wins in the Ladies 9 First Net and one win in the Ladies 18 First Net divisions. Other Fist Net winners were Watts, Fuller and Beverly Turley.
Chip-ins were scored by Kathy Burrow, Marilyn Winters and Anna Martinez.
The month ended on May 29 with a fun day format that was won by Winters, with second place going to Jaramillo, and Edie Redfearn-Moore winning the Low Putt title.
Jaramillo’s successful month of play continued with a First Net in her flight in a tournament with the N.M. Senior Women’s tour and First Net in her flight in a NM Women’s Golf Tournament.
In June, the President’s Cup will be played on June 12, along with regular play days and Ace Days the rest of the month.
