Local dance team successful at several competitions

Dance With Me dance studio in Los Lunas had an eventful 2024 competition season. They competed in six regional competitions in Albuquerque, and have received some major awards from each competition.

At the In10sity Dance Competition, the local dancers had two routines, Trolls and Dalé, which received the judge’s exceptional entertainment award. They were also awarded the Premier Studio of Excellence Award.

To qualify for the Premier Studio of Xcellence, a studio must have premier level, non-solo routines in each premier level age division (mini, junior, teen and senior). The studio’s highest scoring routine in each age division will be added together. The studio with the highest total will be recognized as the Premier Studio of Excellence.

The CRU Dance Competition was where Dance With Me were the Entertainment Showdown winners with their routine, Dalé. Judges pick their favorite dances throughout the competition to battle to be the winner of the Entertainment Showdown. Out of more than 650 routines that competed over the weekend, four were invited back to the showdown.

Of the four, Dalé was the overall winner, making Dance With Me the most entertaining and favorite routine of the whole weekend.

Many of the local dancers received scholarships to attend dance conventions and performances throughout the country. Dance With Me currently has 31 dancers, ranging in age from 5-18, and three who are graduating seniors on the team for the 2024 season.

They competed in 29 dance routines at each competition. Their routines won many scholarships to compete at nationals, internationals and worlds competitions.
