“Tales Through Time” art show at Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts

LOS LUNAS — The deadline for the annual art show at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage and Arts has been extended to Saturday, Nov. 30.

In the past, the show has been called a “juried” show because judges are brought in for the purpose of awarding ribbons. As long as works are appropriate for the family-friendly museum environment, they will be accepted to the show.

If artists have specific questions about their work before submitting, they can email mkemsley@loslunasnm.gov or call the museum at 505-352-7720. All artwork mediums will be accepted, including 3D, fiber, etc.

The theme of this year’s show is “Tales Through Time,” which is open to the interpretation of the artists submitting. The fees to enter the show is $20 per entry or $50 for three pieces.

Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, first, second and third places, and honorable mention. The winner of Best of Show will also get a solo show at the museum in 2025.

Those participating in the show must drop off their artwork from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, or Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the museum, 251 Main St. SE, Los Lunas.

An opening reception will be held from 2-4 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 7, at the museum. The show will remain on display through Saturday, Jan. 25. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
