Miniatures have always been popular through the years and are very hot right now.

There is a fine line between miniatures and doll house enthusiasts. True collectors love all of the choices. Some collectors specialize in one item, such as tiny dolls and each have their own guidelines.

Other collectors love to own a wide variety of items and sizes. People of all ages have become collectors and minimakers.

“I started collecting tiny things when I was very young and still collect and even make my own now,” says local artist Pati Woodard. “I have a lot of the little trophies and tools from my brothers cars they assembled. I am sure they didn’t miss them!”

Tomé Art Gallery members are excited to have many of their artists make miniatures for this show. They are extending the invitations to other miniature creators in the area. Work is due by June 4 at Tomé Art Gallery.

The show opens on Sunday, June 8, with a reception from 2-4 p.m. at Tome Art Gallery, 2930 N.M. 47, with refreshments and meet the artists. The Tiny Show will be held through July 6, and the gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
