Ron and Teresa (Sinclair) Chavez, of Belen, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 20. The couple was married in 1975 at the home of Ron’s parents and, eight years later, they entered into the sacrament of holy matrimony at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

Ron retired from the New Mexico Correction Department, and received his GED from Belen High School. He enjoys traveling, RVing, spending time with all his granddaughters and great-granddaughter.

Teresa, who retired from Magistrate Court in Belen, is a Belen High School graduate, and enjoys traveling, playing board and card games and RVing.

Ron and Teresa enjoy time with family and friends. They also love spending time at their second home in Elephant Butte.

They couple are members of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, where Ron is an usher and Teresa volunteers.

They have to children, Ronald Chavez, of Bernardo; and Ami (Allen) Wells, of Belen. They have five granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.

The Chavezes will celebrate their 50th anniversary on an Alaskan cruise.
