Terry and Mary Gustin, of Belen, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Feb. 24, 2023. The couple was united in matrimony in 1973 in Española, N.M.

They have two children, Nita Gwynne and her husband, Rusty, of Artesia, N.M., and Wesley Gustin, of Belen.

Their grandchildren are Mckinah Gordon and her husband, Jacob, of Lubbock, Texas, Kirstan Gwynne, of Las Cruces, and Konner Gwynne, of Canyon, Texas.

The couple has resided in Belen since 1986. Terry had a lifelong career as a lineman and retired from PNM in 2009. Mary worked for the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School, and later retired from the state of New Mexico.

Terry is a veteran and served as a seaman in the U.S. Navy. He loves to hunt, fish and be in the great outdoors. Mary has a love for sewing, thrifting and just being with “her people.” Both “Mamo and Papa” find great joy in spending time with their grandchildren.

They have both enjoyed their retirement years. They love to travel and take their RV to different places. In 2013 and 2015, they were camp hosts in Pagosa Springs.

In recent years, they have spent their summers in Eagle Nest. Terry fishes, and Mary loves working at Angel’s Attic, the local thrift store.

The couple will be renewing their vows and then celebrate their anniversary with family and friends on Saturday, March 4, in Belen.
