Bruce and Rhonda Law, of Bosque, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on July 26. The couple was married in 1975.

Bruce retired from PNM as a journeyman lineman. He was the IBEW 611 Union steward. He enjoys woodworking and creating western art

Rhonda is a retired educational assistant from Belen Consolidated Schools, and is the former president of Belen Federation of School Employees (BFSE) Union. She enjoys helping others, volunteering for political action and spending time with her grandchildren.

Their children are Tarla (Law) Hill (Lincoln), a teacher and union leader residing in Jarales; and their youngest was the late Justin Law, of Los Lunas. There were also many “adopted” children over the years who they became second parents to.

They have six beautiful grandchildren, Michelle (Xavier), Madison, Makenzie, Lincoln (Shauncey), Lilyana and Nicholas. They also have one spitfire great-grandchild, Liam, who keeps them on their toes.

Bruce and Rhonda will celebrate their 50 years together on a road trip across the Southwest.

They met their freshman year at Eastern New Mexico University. They resided in Gallup and then moved to Belen with their little family in 1987. They were very involved in their children’s activities. They spent most weekends as 4-H leaders, hauling kids and horses to horse shows and rodeos, and helping the 4-H members complete the fair projects. Rhonda helped launch the GRADS program at Belen High School.

Now they are their grandchildren’s biggest fans, they are always in the audience, whether football, wrestling, basketball, tennis, rodeo, baseball, etc.
