Loibls celebrate 50th wedding anniversary
Michael and Elsie Loibl, of Los Lunas, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 19. The couple was married in 1973 in Española.
Michael retired from Los Alamos National Labs. He graduated high school in Dubuque, Iowa, and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1970-74, including in Vietnam. He enjoys traveling, tending to his flower gardens and eating out.
Elsie is also retired from Los Alamos National Labs. She graduated from McCurdy School in Española. She is a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1972-74, also in Vietnam. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Their children are Chris Loibl and wife, Rubina, and Jonathon Loibl, all of Santa Fe. They have two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
The couple opted to have several small, intimate lunch celebrations with friends and relatives from Los Lunas, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Española, Chama and Los Alomos, throughout the month of May.
On their actual 50th wedding anniversary on May 19, they ate at their local Range Cafe in Los Lunas, with staff honoring them.
God and their faith has been the centerpiece of their marriage, knowing how to get up again when they fell down. It’s also contributed to those they met along the way who made a positive impact.
