Lucases celebrate anniversary

Robert and Deborah Lucas, of Los Lunas, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 20. The couple was married on Oct. 20, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nev.

In high school

Robert is a regional sales manager, and enjoys making music, hunting and fishing.

Deborah is employed in the health care industry. She also enjoys making music, thrift shopping, fishing and target practicing. They have one daughter, Shanice Lucas.

The Lucases met in high school, were best friends, got married and had one child, Shanice, who went to Valencia High School and was successful in track and volleyball. She went on to play college volleyball, graduated from The University of New Mexico and continues to make her parents very proud.

The couple’s dogs are their only kids in the house now. They credit their tenure of 25 years to their love for each other and relationship with Jesus Christ. They are members of Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley in Belen, which they say has strengthened them throughout the years.
