Martinez, Black to marry in June

The engagement and upcoming wedding of Kathleen Marie Martinez and Christopher Alan Black have been announced.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Nick and Betty Martinez of Los Lunas. She is a 1994 graduate of Los Lunas High School who earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1998 from New Mexico Highlands University. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Rio Grande Elementary School in Belen.

Her fiance is the son of Lorin and Rosie Black of Albuquerque. He is a 1993 graduate of Valley High School who earned an associate’s degree from Lamar Community College and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from New Mexico Highlands. He is employed by Dow Chemical in Houston, Texas.

A June 29 wedding at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta is planned.

The couple will make their home in Houston.
