Valentine’s Day wedding unites Minez, Ethridge
Belen
Liana Minez and Steven Ethridge were married on Feb. 14 at the Belen Magistrate Court Building.
The bride is the daughter of Victoria Chumpitaz and Julio Minez of Lima, Peru, and the groom is the son of Norman Ethridge of Truth or Conse-quences and the late Mercedes Ethridge.
Magistrate Danny Hawkes presided at the wedding ceremony. Witnesses were Michelle Tafoya and Paula Sedillo.
The couple met through the groom’s best friend, and they carried on their courtship by e-mail and letter, with Steven traveling to Peru last year.
The bride worked as an administrative assistant and secretary in Peru. She is studying English as a second language at the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus.
The groom is a Belen High School graduate and an electrician at APE Electric.
A reception was held at the home of Jerry Sanchez in Belen.
The couple will make their home in Belen.
