Spring forward

Daylight saving time will begin at 2 a.m., Sunday, March 8, local time. The clocks “spring forward” by one hour, meaning sunrise and sunset will occur one hour later.

NMSP checkpoints

New Mexico State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and registration, insurance and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during March 2026.

Operation Tiny Tots

The Daniel D. Fernandez VFW Post 9676, 1201 N.M. 314, in Los Lunas is hosting its fourth annual “Operation Tiny Tots,” which is a collection of items for infants and toddlers, specifically for newborns up to 3 years old. Donations of diapers and formula, new or gently-used clothing items and other infant care essentials will be appreciated. The VFW will be collecting physical items at the post during the first three Saturdays in March. For those who cannot visit in person, they are also accepting monetary donations through their local website at vfw9676.org. They have also created an Amazon registry to make it easier for the public to assist with donations from any location using VFW Post 9676 Operation Tiny Tots.

Mad Hatter Scholarship Tea

Tickets are on sale for the Belen Art League’s Mad Hatter Scholarship Tea, which will be held Sunday, March 22, with two seatings, noon and 2:30 p.m. Ticket price is $20, children 10 and younger are $10. There will be an art raffle, door prizes and hat contest. Tickets must be paid prior to event. Pay in person at 509 Becker Ave., Belen, or call 505-861-0217.

Manufacturing and Innovation Expo

The Central New Mexico Manufacturing and Innovation Expo will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 6, at the Los Lunas Transportation Center, 101 Courthouse Road, Los Lunas. Local manufacturers will gain direct access to workforce programs, state and federal incentives, export assistance, logistics experts, R&D support and regional economic development partners. Participants will also benefit from networking with other manufacturers and hands-on introductions to resources they can use immediately.

King of the Hill

The 10th annual King of the Hill 5K-10K Trail Run at El Cerro de Los Lunas, on N.M. 6, west of Los Lunas, is set for Saturday, March 7. The first race will begin at 7 a.m. The trail course includes different terrain and elevation changes, which challenges runners. Career & Wellness Expo at UNM-VC

Fiddlers and Musicians of New Mexico will perform from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at the Bosque Farms Community Center. Music, dancing, snacks and fun! $3 at the door.

Monthly movie

The Bosque Farms Public Library, 1455 W. Bosque Loop, is showing “Moana” for its monthly movie at 4 p.m., Friday, March 20, in the community room. Popcorn is provided for free.

Spring craft fair
