Local competes for title
Erica Yvette Garcia, of Los Lunas, was recently named the 2022 New Mexico Miss Agriculture USA Queen.
Miss Agriculture USA is a national nonprofit organization focusing on positively promoting agriculture featuring queens of all ages that promote, celebrate and educate about all the diverse aspects of agriculture.
Garcia is the 20-year-old daughter of Eric and Yolanda Garcia, of Los Lunas. She graduated from Belen High School and attends Allen Community College. She also judges on the Allen Red Devil Livestock Judging Team.
Her agricultural interests include raising show cattle and show lambs. She was also a 14-year member of 4-H and four-year FFA member. In 2020, she was a New Mexico Cowbell Beef Ambassador.
Garcia competed at the National Miss Agriculture USA Competition held in Ohio earlier this month.
