Los Lunas resident Chantal Vargas admitted to UNM College of Pharmacy
Amy S. Buesing, director of the UNM/NMSU Cooperative Pharmacy Program, has announced Chantal Vargas, of Los Lunas, has met the admission criteria and has been approved for admission to the UNM College of Pharmacy in August 2024.
The UNM/NMSU Cooperative Pharmacy Program began in 2007 to address the pharmacist shortage in southern New Mexico. This program proactively increases access to pharmacy education for residents of southern New Mexico by offering a collaborative curriculum leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Chantal is the daughter of Gilberto Vargas and Mayra Garcia. She graduated from Los Lunas High School in 2021.
Chantal was a recipient of the Aggie Achiever Scholarship in 2021-22 and the GGI Scholarship in 2023-24. While at NMSU, Chantal was an active member of the NMSU Pre-Pharmacy Society and served as secretary in 2023-24.
Chantal Vargas was recognized at the White Coat Ceremony in August 2024 as a student of the UNM PharmD Class of 2028.
