A home at 501 N. Fourth St. in Belen is delighting neighbors and visitors alike with large and vibrant Halloween decor. Homeowner Evelyn Baldonado-Montoya enjoys decorating her property for children in the neighborhood to enjoy. In the front yard, she has scary hangning monsters, 8-foot pumpkins, a witch who crashed into one of her trees, an 8-foot spider, a 6-foot ghost, Chucky from “Child’s Play” and more.

Masquerade Ball

The New Mexico Special Orchestra’s 26th annual Masquerade Ball will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Sheriff’s Posse Hall in Belen. Free admission. Costume contest and a 50/50 raffle. Guest star Tony DeNardo will also perform. For information, call 505-864-3749.

Haunted Barn

The Haunted Barn will be held from 7-11 p.m., Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26, at the Valencia County Fairgrounds. Come out to the Haunted Barn to have a local scare by 4-H and FFA members. Admission is $5 per person.

Wings ‘N Wheels

The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 530 is holding Wings ‘N Wheels from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Mid Valley Airpark. There will be a pancake breakfast, trunk or treat, static displays of wings and wheels, informational presentations, as well as a costume contest for best costume and best decorated wings and wheels.

Scarecrow Festival

The sixth annual Scarecrow Festival will be held from 3-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, on Becker Avenue in Belen. There will be handcrafted scarecrows, craft activities, gourd painting, live music, games and food trucks. Costume contests will be held for adults, children, group and best scarecrow.

Halloween Bash

The village of Los Lunas will hold a Halloween Bash from 4-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Los Lunas Transportation Center, 101 Courthouse Road, Los Lunas. Join in for an evening full of family-friendly fun with trick-or-treating, costume contests, haunted house tours, food trucks and more. Don’t forget to wear your best costume for a chance to win amazing prizes.

Halloween Trunk or Treat

A Halloween Trunk or Treat, sponsored by the Rio Communities Optimist Club, will be held from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Methodist Church, 75 Manzano Expressway, Rio Communities.

Fall Festival

A Fall Festival, with games, food trucks and family fun, will be held from 2-4:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Peralta Methodist Church, 25 Wesley Road in Peralta. This event is free and open to the community.

Haunted house

A haunted house event, brought to you by the city of Belen Employee Appreciation Committee, will be held from 7-10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, and Thursday, Oct. 31, at 513 C Becker Ave., Belen. $5 one-time entry, or $10 unlimited entries (night of purchase).

Roadrunner Festival

The 2024 Roadrunner Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 26-27, at 129 S. Third St., Belen. Admission is free, and there will be more than 90 vendors at the craft show. There will also be a car show, poker fun, kids carnival, silent auction and more. For information, email infor@h2academicsolutions.net.

Halloween event

Trees That Please, 3084 N.M. 47, Tomé, is hosting a Halloween event beginning at noon, Sunday, Oct. 27. There will be potion and wand making, a herbology class, showing of a “Harry Potter” movie and more.

Pumpkin hunt and hay ride

The Meadow Lake Parks Area Association will hold its annual Pumpkin hunt and hay ride from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, at the end of Meadow Lake Road. There will be 100 pumpkins hidden around the property for people to hunt and take home. There will also be free candy and a drawing at the end of the event for free bicycles. Halloween party in Belen

A Halloween party will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Belen Senior Center. Join in for a spooky party, food, live band Sauvicito and a costume contest.

Grimm’s Halloween

UNM-Valencia Campus welcomes the community to its first ever Grimm’s Halloween from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the campus. Check out the fairytale-themed decorations and enjoy some trick-or-treating. No costumes required (optional) and admission is free.

Halloween event

The community is invited to come trick or treat from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the historic Tomé jail, 18 Church Loop, Tomé. There will be children's games, and the jail will be open.

Trunk or Treat

The city of Belen is hosting a Trunk or Treat from 4:30-7 p.m., on Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31, at Anna Becker Park in Belen. For information on becoming a trunk or treat vehicle please call the Recreation Center at 505-966-2700.

Boo Bash

The Rio Communities Fire Department Auxiliary is holding a Boo Bash beginning at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the fire station, 108 Rio Communities Blvd. There will be spooky treats, drinks and games. Costumes are encouraged.

Trunk or Treat

All are invited to a Trunk or Treat event from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Secundino Baldonado American Legion Post 81, 325 S. Main St., Belen.

Bike or Treat

Exclusive Auto Moto Specialties is hosting a free, family event, Bike or Treat, at its location at 700 N. Main St., Belen, beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31. There will be candy, costumes, motorcycles and a photo backdrop available.
