Moises Perea celebrates 90th birthday on Saturday

The community is invited to celebrate the 90th birthday of Moises Perea, of Los Lunas, from 12-3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, at 10 Ruiz Lane in Los Lunas.

Perea was born on Jan. 11, 1935, and has been a lifetime resident of Los Lunas. He has dedicated his life to his family and all the wonderful partnerships in the community. Above all, he has a strong faith in God and lifetime service to his church.

Perea is a lifetime farmer, turning the soil to produce and harvest New Mexico green chile, blue corn, melons and much more representing Perea Farms. Much of his pride has been his love for raising borregos and cabritos. Not only has he been an outstanding ranchero, he has also been a positive business man in the community, who built several apartment complexes with his own hands that housed thousands of families throughout the years.

In addition to his life success, Perea has a big heart, has tons of energy and is very charismatic. He is healthy and very independent, as he still enjoys driving throughout Valencia County, talking with friends and family.

Perea attributes his positive partnerships in the community to always being very kind, caring, honest and respectful to everyone.
