The first wooden driving bridge connecting Los Lunas to Valencia and Peralta, ca. 1950’s. It was a very shaky bridge that could be washed away with sufficient flooding. Since the citizens of Los Lunas built the bridge, it was their responsibility to repair it. The new bridge was built during the 1960’s in the same location with the government overseeing the project.Photo courtesy of the University of New Mexico
