The body of U.S. Marine LCpl. Evan Strickland was returned home to New Mexico on Tuesday, July 19 for burial. Strickland, a life-long resident of Peralta, was escorted to French Funeral Home in Albuquerque, where he was met by Valencia County and Albuquerque community members all holding American flags. He will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 26.

Residents of the town of Peralta will be handing out American flags on Monday, July 25, in Peralta before the family of LCpl. Strickland is escorted to the funeral home for a memorial service. Contact the town of Peralta for more information, 505-869-2050.
