Car drivers mistaking bike path for a road

There’s a problem with the new bicycle path under construction near Tomé Hill.

Motorists are using it, thinking it’s a road, said Jacqueline Guilbault, special projects director for the Valley Improvement Association, which is building the bike paths.

The paths are complete except for striping, she said.

“People are driving on it with cars. They should stay on the road,” she said.

The bike path goes east toward the Manzano Expressway.
