Celebration, remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, hosted by Rio Abajo Lodge No. 17 of Belen and University of New Mexico-Valencia, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, in the UNM-Valencia Campus Student Community Center. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Donna Maria Davis, pastor of the Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church. The celebration is free and open to the public.

King remembrance

The 26th annual Celebration and Remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Solidarity and Candlelight Vigil will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 21, at the Heart of Belen Gazebo on Main Street and Becker Avenue. The event is sponsored by the city of Belen’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Mutli-Cultural Commission.
