Los Lunas High School JROTC will be holding their annual Veterans Day Ceremony from 9-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Los Lunas High School football field. The entrance is on Los Cerritos Road NW.

The community is welcome to attend to hear guest speaker Leonard Ramirez, a Vietnam veteran, Purple Heart recipient and Gold Star family member. Ramirez also was one of the 15 veterans in “Our Stories: Vietnam” on PBS.

Other highlights include a flag folding ceremony by members of the New Mexico National Guard. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program.

The mission of the LLHS JROTC program is to motivate young people to be better citizens. The program’s over-arching goal focuses on character and leadership through its many development and community-involved programs while fostering partnerships with communities and educational institutions. The JROTC program also teaches young cadets community involvement, responsibility, leadership skills and teamwork.
