New Mexico State Police arrest wanted felon, found in possession of a firearm

LOS LUNASA Belen man wanted for numerous felony warrants was arrested on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Sonic restaurant in Los Lunas.

NMSP officers arrived at the restaurant and located Carlos Lynch, age 40, inside a vehicle parked at a drive-up stall. Officers activated their emergency lights and ordered Lynch to exit the vehicle.

Lynch drove his vehicle over a curb and began to flee from officers. After a short pursuit, an officer utilized a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle. Lynch was taken into custody and later booked into the Valencia County Detention Center.

Lynch is charged with aggravated fleeing and felon in possession of a firearm after a loaded pistol was located inside his vehicle.

Lynch was also arrested for his numerous warrants on charges of child abuse, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, shoplifting, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and residential burglary.
