Garcia, a native of Belen, has served as chief clerk of New Mexico’s highest court since March 2022.

“It is a privilege to join the executive committee, and I am proud that New Mexico will host the annual conference of NCACC in 2025,” said Garcia.

The membership of NCACC is made up of court clerks for state, federal, military, and tribal appellate and supreme courts. The organization promotes the effective administration of appellate courts and acts as a clearinghouse for information to improve the operation of court clerks’ offices.

Before joining the Supreme Court, Garcia was the general counsel of the Second Judicial District Court and its acting court executive officer. She previously worked for the state Department of Workforce Solutions, the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission, a private law firm in Albuquerque and was an assistant district attorney in the 13th Judicial District.

Garcia received the 2020 Justice Pamela Minzner Outstanding Advocacy for Women Award from the State Bar of New Mexico. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
