Alberto “Berto” Perea, age 71, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on March 9, 2024.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, April 4, with a visitation at 11:30 a.m. and a Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m.

He is survived by his son, Dominic Perea; granddaughters, Chelsea Bjerga, Havin Perea and Jaelyn Perea; great-grandkids, Oakley and Aksel Bjerga; brothers, Tranquilino, Ruben (Renee), Johnny and Leonard (Betty); sisters, Ofelia Diaz (Johnny) and Catherine Jojola; and lots of loving nieces and nephews.

Alberto is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Sr. and Mela Otero Perea; brother, Michael Perea; paternal grandmother, Mercesdes Perea; maternal grandparents, Rumaldo and Louisa Otero; nephew, Rumaldo Perea; and brother-in-law, Pat A. Jojola.

Alberto was a member of the RAKS family for 37 years and was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He loved hunting, fishing and camping in Quemado, played in the men’s softball league for many years, and was a big Steelers fan.
