She was a skilled and dedicated hairdresser for 64 years, a proud owner of Alicia’s Hair Design and Carpet Warehouse in Belen. Barbara was a beloved figure in the community, along with Eddie, she proudly maintained their ranch in Horse Spring, N.M., for more than six decades, cherishing weekends spent there.

She had a passion for dancing, often leading the Marcha at family gatherings. Barbara’s love of pottery led her to create many beautiful pieces, and she enjoyed attending arts and crafts fairs.

Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years, Barbara also had the honor of being a godmother to many, deeply rooted in her strong Catholic faith.

Her devotion extended to collecting more than 500 nativity sets from around the world, a cherished testament to her faith and love for culture. Once a month, Barbara enjoyed reconnecting with a close group of high school friends for lunch or dinner. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Mary’s Catholic School in Belen, 101 N. 10th St., Belen, NM, 87002.
