Dr. Bronson K. Springstead, a respected equine veterinarian and cherished figure in the equestrian community, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born on June 4, 1936, in Gallup, N.M., Dr. Springstead devoted his life to the health and care of horses, operating Zia Equine Center in Albuquerque for more than 30 years.
Dr. Springstead was preceded to heaven by his mother, father, brother and sister.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; and his children, Brandon (Jodi, Kirk and Bella) Springstead, of Albuquerque, and Leah (Fred, Maximilian and Makenna) Fischer, of Denver, Colo.; and his brother, Erroyl (Terry) Springstead (Colleen), of Oracle, Ariz.
