Celestino V. Ortega (Tino), age 86, born in Veguita and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Dec. 16, 2023.

Tino enjoyed playing basketball and baseball in his younger days. He worked as a plumber for several different companies before getting hired by the city of Albuquerque, where he retired in 1995.

The door was always open to any friends and family who visited.

Tino is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Ortega; four children, Tina Sanchez and husband, Robert, Clarence Ortega and wife, Roberta, and Bertha Trujillo and husband, Charles, and Charles (Jody); grandchildren, Andrew, Robbie, Katelyn and Mark, Alyssa, Aaron, Jordan, Isaac and Isaiah; great-grandchildren, MilaBella, and Zane.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Road SW, Albuquerque. Visitation will be held at 7:45 a.m., Rosary at 8:15 a.m. and Mass at 9 a.m.
