David Daniel Garcia

David Daniel Garcia, a 78-year-old resident of Jarales, passed from this life to the next on Dec. 20, 2022.

David was born March 26, 1944, in Corrales, N.M. He was a charter member of the Christian Family Church of God, and built some of the furniture still in use today.

David was an U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam era. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and everything outdoors in God’s creation. He was a hard worker all his life, a master builder and had a vast knowledge of all phases of construction specializing in stucco, plastering, concrete and kiva fireplaces.

David taught many of his skills to his children and anyone who wanted to learn; most family members worked with him at some point. David was also a good auto mechanic and fixed small engines for family and friends in his later years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, son, Toby; daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Robert, Alex, Ralph, Rudy and Henry; and now sister, Barbara Lopez.

David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie; children, David, Richard (Marcella), Bernadette, Daniel (Kelly), William (Francine), Paula (Milo) and Judy (Ricky); brother, Julian (Dolly); sisters, Margie (Tany), Nora (Phil) and Lilly; grandchildren, Alex Jr., Louise, Christine, Joshua, Sara, Rachael, Aaron, Theresa, Daniel Jr., David, William Jr., Derek (Bonnie), Christian, Aaron, Tori, Jennifer (Matt), Stephen (Kristina), Brian (Pam), Kaitlynn, Ashley (Ryan), Delayne, Jeffery (Bethany), Connie and Vincent; great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces, who all loved and will miss him but not forget him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at Christian family Church of God, 318 S. Sixth St., in Belen, with a reception following.

Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Jr., David, William Jr. and Aaron.
