Diego R. Sanchez, 50, of Peralta, went home to meet his Lord on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.

Services will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church in Valencia, beginning with a visitation at 4 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 5 p.m. A final visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, with a Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. A reception will take place at the Parish Hall at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church after interment.

He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Diego was born to Modesto and Dolores Sanchez on Aug. 23, 1974.

Diego was survived by his three beautiful children, son, Nicolas Sanchez (Justine); daughters, Elena Sanchez (Mikey) and Eva Sanchez; sister, Camille Sanchez; brother, Michael Sanchez; his loving partner, Theresa Lechuga; and the light and joy of his life, his grandson, Wade Sanchez, along with loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed every minute spent with them and never missed an opportunity to watch them play sports.

Diego was preceded in death by his parents, Modesto and Dolores Sanchez; and brothers, Albert and Andrew Sanchez.

Diego was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very devout to his religion in the Catholic Church. His relationship with Jesus Christ overflowed into all aspects of his life.

He loved to be outdoors, hunting with his family, kayaking or just taking a drive to the mountains. He enjoyed helping anyone in need with handy work and always had a project to keep him busy.

Pallbearers will be his son, Nicolas Sanchez; nephews Armando Sanchez and Carlos Sanchez; cousins Gabe Griego and Dave Perea; and friend, Arnold Holona. Honorary pallbearers will be nephew, David Sanchez; and son-in-law, Mikey Barela.
