Eloy Nicanor Giron, 83, of Belen, passed away on May 12, 2024.
He was born to parents, Patricio and Jesusita “Jessie” Giron on July 26, 1940.
Eloy is survived by his children, Eloy (Cindy), Charles (Deborah) and Vincent (Jamie); grandchildren, Brandi, Joseph (Kelsie), Allison Giron, Carolyn Sedillos (Matthew), Vanessa Justice and Leanna Giron; great-grandchildren, Aaden, Andre Chavez, Javier, Lorenzo Giron, Kade and Kason Justice; as well as many cousins, and close friends to include Benny Jaramillo, Willie Giron, Ben Castillo and David Chavez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Patricio and Freddie.
Eloy served in the U.S. Army, and after his service he went on to work for Sandia Labs, where he later retired. After retirement, he enjoyed building houses with his sons and enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren by coaching and watching them as they played in softball, baseball, and football teams.
He was an avid supporter of the University of New Mexico Lobo sports, and sure did love his NFL season when he could cheer on his beloved New England Patriots.

Services for Eloy will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, May 23. A visitation will take place at 9 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will then be recited at 10 a.m. Eloy will be placed to rest at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
The pallbearer will be Joseph Giron.
