It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eufelia Baca, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who peacefully passed away on Nov. 13, 2024, at the age of 85.
Eufelia was born on Sept. 24, 1939, in Adelino, to Samuel and Adelicia (Zamora) Jaramillo. A woman of great faith and unwavering dedication to her family, Eufelia lived her life with love, grace and compassion. She was known for her kindness and generosity, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Eufelia was married to Ramon Baca, for 63 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter and devotion to their family.
She is survived by Ramon, as well as their children, Fidel (Silvia) Baca, Berlinda Baca and Steven (Brandy) Baca; her grandchildren, Monique (Matt) Wert, Joseph Baca, Cheyenne Herrera, Cecila Andrews, Gracie Andrews and Joanna Andrews; and her great-grandchildren, Amaya Sanchez, Analisa Sanchez, Mattie Wert and Ava Wert. She is also survived by her brothers, Gilbert Jaramillo and Ricky Jaramillo; her sisters, Rose Moya and Tina Rael; and several nieces and nephews.
Eufelia worked for more than 20 years as a cook for the Belen Consolidated Schools, where she became a beloved figure. Many students, teachers and staff fondly remember her warm smile, delicious meals, and the positive energy she brought to the school. Her nurturing spirit was felt by all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
A true green thumb, Eufelia was known for her impressive chile gardens, which she tended with care and pride. Her passion for gardening was a reflection of her love for nurturing life and her connection to the land she cherished.
Eufelia was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Adelicia Jaramillo; and her sisters, Fita Castillo, Feles Lucero and Cecilia Aragon.
Her legacy of love, faith and hard work will continue to inspire all who knew her. Eufelia’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all whose lives she touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Eufelia’s life was held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel.
